Application Engineer ( Full Stack )

Job Description

We are looking for an Application Engineer (Full Stack) to join Discover Financial Services, one of the world's leading digital banking and payments companies. In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing the design and implementation of products, guiding a team to achieve key results, and actively managing and escalating risks and customer-impacting issues.

Responsibilities

• Analyze, design, program, test, and deploy new user stories and features with high quality to production.
• Provide learning tasks to Associate Application Engineers, direct Senior Associate Application Engineers, and achieve team commitments using informal leadership and communication skills.
• Guide the team in design decisions and proactive design solutions for potential failures.
• Contribute to and lead technology communities at Discover.

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor's in Computer Science or related field.
• 3+ years of experience in Information Technology, Software Engineering, or related.

Preferred Qualifications

• Engineering experience with Java on Spring Boot and React.
• Design and redesign of API's, Microservices, applications, and systems.
• Deployment of applications to the cloud, testing, CI/CD, and Release Management.
• Experience working in an Agile Environment with excellent documentation skills.
