Job Description

The Bookkeeper at Sirmax North America Inc is responsible for handling the fundamental aspects of record keeping, including financial transactions and accounts payable and receivable. This role involves maintaining internal control systems, ensuring that expenditures are in accordance with company protocol, and assisting with internal and external financial audits.

Responsibilities

  • Record day-to-day financial transactions and complete the posting process.
  • Enter data, maintain records, and generate reports and financial statements (trial balance, income statement, balance sheet).
  • Process accounts receivable/payable in a timely manner, including setting up vendors and verifying source documents such as invoices, receipts, and computer printouts.
  • Prepare financial statements and reports, including the profit and loss statement and balance sheet.
  • Make bank deposits and receipts of money.
  • Perform general ledger and account reconciliations.
  • Conduct month-end activities, including monthly journal entries and reconciling company credit card reports and expense reports.
  • Assist with budget preparations and maintain internal control systems.
  • Coordinate with outside CPA and Auditors as needed.
  • Reconcile and balance all accounts and comply with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements.
  • Transfer data to the general ledger, maintain an orderly accounting filing system, and perform other duties as assigned.

Required Skills/Abilities

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and SAP.
  • Strong organizational skills and excellent communication skills.

Education and Experience

  • College or Technical Degree (or equivalent gained from 5+ years of experience).
  • High school diploma.

Physical Requirements

  • Prolonged periods of sitting and extensive computer usage (90%).
