MHI Ship Repair & Services, a globally recognized marine repair and conversion contractor, is looking for a detail-oriented and analytical Cost Accountant to join our team in Norfolk, Virginia. As the Cost Accountant, you will be responsible for maintaining the accuracy of our financial records, analyzing costs, and providing valuable insights to support decision-making processes.
Responsibilities
- Calculate monthly revenues and prepare financial project reports.
- Assist in reviewing project EACs and support project managers.
- Prepare journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial forecasts.
- Ensure compliance with FAR and CAS regarding indirect rates.
- Support cost reporting for the Contracts department.
- Drive process improvements and participate in ad-hoc projects.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field.
- 3-5 years of experience as a Cost Accountant.
- Strong knowledge of cost accounting principles and MS Excel.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
