Engineer III - Tier 1

Job Description

We are looking for an Engineer III - Tier 1 to join our EarthScope Consortium team at our EPIC facility in Socorro, New Mexico. As an Engineer III, you will work with limited direction to provide oversight, management, and leadership for technical geophysical projects of moderate complexity, collaborating with other engineers to devise innovative solutions.

Responsibilities

• Act as a technical lead on geophysical projects involving multiple technologies.
• Set strategy for planning and executing scope for assigned projects.
• Identify and solve complex technical problems creatively.
• Integrate geophysical technology, firmware, software, and infrastructure.
• Generate detailed technical documentation for projects.
• Collaborate with other departments within EarthScope on projects.
• Develop and maintain relationships with community members and partners.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in engineering or related field.
• 7 years of experience with geophysical sensors or networks (or Master's with 4 years field experience).
• Proficiency in data processing, software, and systems engineering.
• Ability to provide technical guidance and training.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

• Valid driver’s license and ability to travel domestically and internationally.
• Ability to work in challenging field conditions.
• Physical ability to stand, walk, lift, and operate tools in various environments.
