Expert Vulnerability Analyst ( Third Party Vendor Risk Management )

Job Description

We are looking for an Expert Vulnerability Analyst to join our team at Discover Financial Services. In this role, you will drive Cybersecurity strategic compliance and vulnerability management decisions, overseeing roadmaps and providing resilient support for next-generation systems. As a thought leader, you will actively manage and escalate risks and customer-impacting issues, contributing to the enhancement of the control environment for executive decision-making.

Responsibilities

• Advise upper management on Cybersecurity matters and guide Cybersecurity architects.
• Direct security solutions in alignment with business risk and regulatory requirements.
• Define and promote the strategic direction of the team, developing cyber solutions and standards for threat intelligence workflow.
• Articulate defensive security measures, develop new security requirements, and advise on risk mitigation.
• Ensure compliance with audit, regulatory, and legal requirements.
• Provide expert guidance for complex vendor assessments and manage Third Party Risk Management programs.
• Analyze security frameworks and collaborate with key stakeholders as a subject matter expert.
• Monitor and escalate risk and customer-impacting issues.
• Communicate effectively and lead vendor risk discussions at Discover.

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Security, Business, or related field.
• 8+ years of experience in Information Security, Cybersecurity, or related field.

Preferred Qualifications

• 6+ years in core third party vendor risk management with 2+ years in a leadership role.
• Experience with Incident Response, penetration testing, and security frameworks.
• Professional certifications such as GIAC, CISSP, or CISM.
• Understanding of Agile methodology and enterprise risk management principles.
