Field Trainer

A&W Restaurants Inc. is seeking a Field Trainer to join our team. Reporting to the Manager of Field Training, this role is crucial in implementing company standards through coaching and training. The primary responsibility is to train managers and team members of Franchise Partners in operational excellence and guest service.

Essential Functions

  • Execute strategic plans for operational excellence and superior guest service.
  • Train franchisees and restaurant staff on operating procedures.
  • Ensure compliance with company standards and governmental regulations.
  • Cultivate positive business relationships with Franchise Partners.
  • Manage training resources and create digital/traditional training material.
  • Facilitate training content at A&W University.
  • Coordinate training for new restaurant openings and Brand Refreshers.

Competencies

  • Proficiency in supervisory practices and operational skills.
  • Leadership ability to coach and develop Managers.
  • Strong QSR industry acumen.
  • Knowledge of food safety procedures, including ServSafe certification.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
  • Ability to make rational decisions and handle confidential information.
  • Proficient in MS Office, Excel, and digital training content creation.

Supervisory Responsibility

The Field Trainer supervises training sessions for new managers and restaurant openings.

Physical Demands

This role requires travel, standing, mobility, and lifting up to 50 lbs.

Expected Hours of Work

Full-time position based in Lexington, KY, with flexible hours depending on restaurant needs.

Travel

Position requires up to 90% travel within the USA.

Required Education and Experience

  • Minimum 3 years training experience.
  • Valid driver's license and clean driving record.
  • Proven track record in sales, profits, and operational improvement.

Preferred Education and Experience

  • Minimum 5 years restaurant industry experience.
  • Minimum 3 years supervisory/training experience.
