Kitchen Assistant

Job Description

We are looking for a detail-oriented Kitchen Assistant to join Hornblower's City Experiences team in Norfolk, VA. As a part of our dynamic team, you will work closely with the Sous Chef and kitchen staff to ensure high levels of quality, sanitation, and guest satisfaction onboard our cruises. Responsibilities

• Manage back-of-the-house (BOH) cruise execution alongside the Executive Chef.
• Supervise kitchen staff to ensure adherence to sanitation codes and quality standards.
• Recruit, train, and schedule kitchen staff as needed.
• Resolve guest service issues and maintain high standards of safety and sanitation.
• Participate in monitoring costs, inventory, and purchasing processes.
• Assist in fleet-wide initiatives and other assigned duties.

Minimum Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Minimum of three years of kitchen experience in a high-volume environment.
• Previous kitchen staff management experience.
• ServSafe Certified.
• Strong organizational and communication skills.
• Ability to work in confined spaces and varying temperatures.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
• Must be able to lift items weighing up to 200 lbs.
