About the Opportunity: The Kitchen Cook will work alongside the Executive Chef to ensure high-quality back-of-the-house (BOH) cruise execution, focusing on quality, sanitation, service, and guest satisfaction while maintaining profitability.
Responsibilities:
- Act as the on-duty kitchen manager for cruises
- Ensure adherence to health department sanitation codes
- Maintain liaison between the kitchen and other departments
- Recruit and train kitchen staff
- Participate in maintaining effective safety programs
- Control kitchen operation costs and inventory
- Participate in fleet-wide task forces as requested
Minimum Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum of 3 years kitchen experience in high-volume environment
- 1 year of kitchen staff management experience
- ServSafe Certified
- Ability to manage multiple priorities
- Effective communication skills
- Physical requirements: finger/hand dexterity, lifting up to 200 lbs, ability to work in extreme temperature ranges
