Job Description
We are currently seeking a full-time Licensed Practical Nurse to join our team at Madison County Jail located in Madison, Florida. As part of GENESYS Health Alliance, you will contribute to providing quality healthcare services within a correctional setting. Our primary goal is caring for both our patients and our employees while maintaining high healthcare standards and client satisfaction.
Responsibilities
- Administer routine and emergency medical care to detainees.
- Treat acute and chronic illnesses and injuries.
- Perform patient treatments as ordered by medical providers.
- Administer medications and document administration following protocols.
- Carry out nursing care plans for inmates as prescribed.
- Ensure the safety and security of medication administration areas.
- Complete screenings for newly admitted individuals.
- Explain procedures and treatment protocols to patients.
Requirements
- Graduation from a nationally accredited Licensed Practical Nursing program.
- Current Licensed Practical Nurse licensure in the state of employment.
- Current Basic Life Support certification.
- Correctional nursing experience preferred but not required.
- Ability to obtain a security clearance, including drug screen and background check.
