Job Description
We are currently seeking a full-time Licensed Practical Nurse to join our team at Madison County Jail located in Madison, Florida. Our company, GENESYS Health Alliance, is a leader in providing quality healthcare in correctional settings. As a Licensed Practical Nurse, you will be responsible for administering routine and emergency medical care to detainees, treating acute and chronic illnesses and injuries.
Responsibilities
- Provide patient treatments such as blood pressure checks, glucose monitoring, and medication administration.
- Administer prescribed medications and follow nursing care plans.
- Complete initial and ongoing screenings for detained individuals.
- Ensure the safety and security of the area and medications during administration.
- Explain procedures and treatment protocols to patients.
Requirements
- Graduation from a nationally accredited licensed practical nursing program.
- Current LPN licensure in the state of employment.
- Current Basic Life Support certification.
- Ability to work 12-hour shifts with rotating weekends.
- Correctional nursing experience preferred but not required.
