Job Description
Slumberland Furniture is currently hiring Material Handlers with Forklift Operations experience to join our team immediately. This full-time position offers competitive pay starting at $17 per hour, Monday to Friday, starting at 7:00 am.
Primary Objective & Scope of Position:
This role involves handling merchandise, including storing, moving, and distributing products within our warehouse. The ideal candidate will lead by example, provide training to other team members, and ensure smooth operations.
Essential Functions and Accountabilities:
- Efficiently move and maintain merchandise in designated areas to optimize space.
- Handle the movement of merchandise to and from the show floor for storage, delivery, or shipment.
- Utilize the point of sale (POS) system accurately to manage inventory flow.
- Ensure precision in customer orders and maintain system records.
- Inspect, unload, tag, and receive incoming goods; assemble, wrap, and inspect outgoing items.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED, or currently pursuing.
- Basic math skills and knowledge of tools, hardware components, and product assembly.
- Valid driver's license and basic computer proficiency.
- Experience with POS systems is advantageous.
