Position: Material Handler
Company: Slumberland Furniture
Job Type: Full-time
Salary: Competitive pay starting at $17 per hour

Primary Objective & Scope of Position:
This position involves storing, moving, and distributing merchandise efficiently within the warehouse. The Material Handler will lead by example and provide training to other team members.

Essential Functions and Accountabilities:

• Move and condense merchandise to optimize space.
• Handle merchandise for storage, delivery, and customer orders.
• Utilize POS system for inventory management.
• Ensure accuracy in handling customer orders.
• Unpack, inspect, assemble, and wrap merchandise for shipment.

Requirements:

• High school diploma or GED (or currently working towards).
• Basic math skills.
• Knowledge of tools, hardware components, and product assembly.
• Valid driver's license.
• Basic computer knowledge.

Additional:

• Provide training to team members.
• Communicate effectively with customers and colleagues.
• Maintain inventory accuracy and resolve discrepancies.
• Adhere to safety policies and practices.
• Basic understanding of POS systems is desirable.
