Job Description

OnPoint Medical Group is seeking an outstanding Medical Assistant to join our team at Dakota Ridge. The Medical Assistant plays a crucial role in assisting the provider in examination and treatment of patients.

Responsibilities

  • Completes intake, verifies patient information and prepares patients for healthcare visits.
  • Documents accurate vital signs and populates all sections of the electronic medical record in a timely manner.
  • Assists providers during examination and treatment, performing point of care tests appropriate to skill level and state regulations.
  • Maintains supplies in storage areas and exam rooms, ensuring a safe and healthy work environment.
  • Conducts business in a service-oriented manner, addressing voicemails and inbox messages, and maintaining a professional working relationship with vendors.
  • Follows HIPAA guidelines for all internal and external systems.
  • Attends trainings and meetings as required.

Minimum Education and Experience

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Graduate of an accredited healthcare program, i.e. Medical Assistant, CNA, LPN, EMT or equivalent work experience required.
  • Nationally recognized as a Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) strongly preferred.
  • Strong computer skills required. EMR experience preferred.
  • Current BLS card.

Preferred Education/Experience

  • 1-3 years of experience in Family or Pediatrics.
  • Athenahealth practice management system.
