Job Description

OnPoint Medical Group is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Medical Assistant to join our team in DTC. As part of our physician-led network, you will play a crucial role in expanding access to quality healthcare in a comprehensive and effective manner within the community. Your primary responsibility will be to assist our providers in examining and treating patients, ensuring a seamless and attentive care experience.

Responsibilities

  • Welcome and prepare patients for healthcare visits, obtaining medical history and verifying patient information.
  • Document vital signs and populate electronic medical records accurately and promptly.
  • Provide assistance to providers during examinations and treatments, conducting point-of-care tests within skill level and state regulations.
  • Maintain supplies in storage areas and exam rooms, ensuring cleanliness and safety standards are met.
  • Conduct business in a service-oriented manner, demonstrating attentiveness, cooperation, and respect to all patients, visitors, and colleagues.
  • Address voicemails and inbox messages, and back up front office duties when needed.
  • Maintain professional working relationships with practice vendors and adhere to HIPAA guidelines.
  • Attend trainings and meetings as required.

Minimum Education and Experience

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Graduate of an accredited healthcare program, with certifications per state guidelines and current BLS card.
  • Nationally recognized as a Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) strongly preferred.
  • Strong computer skills required, with EMR experience preferred, and some prior MA experience.
  • 1-3 years of experience in Family or Pediatrics and familiarity with Athenahealth practice management system preferred.
