Medical Assistant

Job Description

The University of Toledo Physicians is seeking a dedicated Medical Assistant to provide essential support in patient care and administrative tasks within a collaborative healthcare environment. The Medical Assistant will work under physician supervision, assisting with clinical procedures, patient care, and office organization.

Responsibilities

• Assist physicians and healthcare providers with patient care tasks.
• Prepare patients for exams and procedures, including vital signs measurement.
• Manage and update patient charts and medical records.
• Perform clinical procedures such as injections and blood draws.
• Ensure exam rooms are stocked and maintained for efficient operations.
• Handle patient inquiries and communicate instructions clearly.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or Equivalent.
• Minimum of 1 year of clinical/medical experience or Medical Assistant Diploma.
• BLS Certification.
• Demonstrated interpersonal skills and professionalism.
• Basic computer skills and familiarity with MS Office.

Preferred Qualifications

• Diploma from an accredited Medical Assisting Program.
• RMA, CMA, or CCMA Certification.
• 2+ years of relevant experience.

Working Conditions

• Requires occasional lifting and standing.
• Primarily indoors in clinical settings.
• Exposure to medical patients and care activities.
