Job Description

OnPoint Medical Group is seeking an outstanding Medical Assistant to join our team in DTC! As a back office Medical Assistant, you will assist the provider in examination and treatment of patients by performing various essential duties and responsibilities. Our 'Circle of Care' focuses on ensuring the health and wellness of members and their families by providing access to comprehensive medical services from one unified physician group in their neighborhoods.

Responsibilities

  • Complete intake and prepare patients for healthcare visits.
  • Document vital signs and populate sections of the electronic medical record.
  • Assist providers during examination and treatment, maintaining supplies and cleanliness in exam rooms.
  • Conduct business in a service-oriented manner, demonstrating attentiveness and respect to patients and colleagues.
  • Check and address voicemails and inbox messages and assist with front office duties when needed.
  • Maintain a professional working relationship with practice vendors and follow HIPAA guidelines for all internal and external systems.
  • Attend trainings and meetings as required.

Minimum Education and Experience

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Graduate of an accredited healthcare program, with certifications per state guidelines.
  • Nationally recognized as a Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) strongly preferred.
  • Strong computer skills, EMR experience, and some MA experience required, along with a current BLS card.
  • 1-3 years of experience in Family or Pediatrics and knowledge of Athenahealth practice management system preferred.

Salary: $21 - $26 / hour
