Merchandise Handler - No Weekends

Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated Merchandise Handler to join our team at Slumberland Furniture. This full-time position offers a competitive salary starting at $17 per hour, with no weekend work required.

Primary Objective & Scope of Position

The Merchandise Handler is responsible for moving, storing, and distributing products efficiently within our warehouse. This role involves providing some training to other team members and ensuring accurate merchandise movement.

Responsibilities

• Efficiently move and organize merchandise to optimize space.
• Handle product movement to and from various areas within the warehouse.
• Utilize the POS system to manage inventory flow.
• Ensure accuracy in customer orders and system records.
• Assist in unloading, receiving, inspecting, and preparing merchandise for shipment.
• Provide training to fellow team members.
• Deliver excellent customer service by maintaining inventory accuracy and resolving discrepancies.
• Practice safety measures to prevent damage to equipment and merchandise.
• Perform other duties as assigned, including grounds and building maintenance.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED (or working towards completion).
• Basic math skills and knowledge of tools and hardware components.
• Valid driver's license required.
• Basic computer knowledge preferred.
