Merchandise Handler - No Weekends

Job Description

We are currently seeking a detail-oriented Merchandise Handler to join our team at Slumberland Furniture. You will be responsible for various merchandise movement tasks, including storing, moving, and distributing products efficiently. This full-time position offers a competitive salary starting at $17 per hour and involves Monday to Friday shifts starting at 7:00 am.

Primary Objective & Scope of Position

This role involves leading by example and providing training to other employees, focusing on merchandise movement and customer service. You will be responsible for ensuring inventory accuracy, maintaining safety practices, and adhering to company policies.

Responsibilities

• Efficiently move merchandise within locations to maximize space.
• Transfer merchandise to and from the show floor for storage, delivery, or shipment.
• Utilize the point of sale (POS) system to manage product flow.
• Ensure accuracy in customer orders and system records.
• Receive, inspect, and prepare incoming products, as well as unpack, inspect, and assemble outgoing items.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED (or working towards completion).
• Basic math skills and knowledge of tools and hardware.
• Valid driver's license and basic computer proficiency.
• Desirable: Familiarity with POS systems.

Safety

Adhere to safety policies, practice safe behaviors, and follow equipment handling guidelines to prevent damage. Maintain a safe and organized facility, contributing to risk reduction procedures.
