Merchandise Handler - No Weekends

Job Description

Slumberland Furniture is currently looking to hire Merchandise Handlers with Forklift Operations experience to join our team. This full-time position offers competitive pay starting at $17 per hour and does not require weekend shifts. As a Merchandise Handler, you will be responsible for efficiently storing, moving, and distributing products within our warehouse.

Primary Objective & Scope of Position

• Perform merchandise movement tasks to maintain space efficiency.
• Handle transportation of merchandise to and from various areas, ensuring accurate inventory records.
• Use the point of sale (POS) system for inventory management.

Essential Functions and Accountabilities

• Conduct merchandise movement within the warehouse, optimizing space.
• Participate in training activities and provide guidance to colleagues.
• Interact professionally with customers, vendors, and teammates to ensure inventory accuracy.
• Maintain safety standards by following procedures, handling equipment properly, and keeping the facility organized.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED (or currently working towards completion).
• Basic mathematical skills and knowledge of tools and hardware components.
• A valid driver's license and basic computer knowledge are required.
