Job Description
Slumberland Furniture is currently hiring merchandise handlers to join our warehouse team. As a Merchandise Handler, you will be responsible for efficiently moving, storing, and distributing products, ensuring accurate inventory management and exceptional customer service.
Responsibilities
- Efficiently move and organize merchandise within the warehouse to optimize space.
- Prepare merchandise for display, storage, delivery, or shipment.
- Utilize the point of sale system for inventory management.
- Ensure accuracy in customer orders and inventory records.
- Unload, inspect, and process incoming merchandise; assemble and wrap outgoing items for safe delivery.
- Provide training to team members and lead by example.
- Maintain professional communication with customers, vendors, and colleagues.
- Resolve inventory discrepancies and maintain inventory accuracy.
- Adhere to safety protocols to prevent damage and maintain a safe work environment.
- Perform light grounds and building maintenance as needed.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED (or in progress).
- Basic math skills and knowledge of tools and hardware assembly.
- Valid driver's license and basic computer skills.
- Experience with POS systems is a plus.
