Merchandise Handler - Overtime Available

Join our team at Slumberland Furniture as a Merchandise Handler with Overtime Available. This full-time position involves various responsibilities associated with merchandise movement to ensure efficient storage, distribution, and customer satisfaction.

Primary Objective & Scope of Position

This role focuses on moving, storing, and distributing products efficiently. Leading by example and providing training to other employees are also part of the responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities

• Move and condense merchandise for space optimization.
• Handle merchandise movements to and from the show floor for storage, delivery, or shipment.
• Utilize the point of sale (POS) system for inventory management.
• Ensure accuracy in customer orders and system records.
• Inspect, receive, assemble, and wrap merchandise for shipment or storage.
• Provide training to other team members.
• Communicate professionally with customers, colleagues, and vendors.
• Resolve inventory discrepancies to maintain accuracy.
• Adhere to safety policies and procedures to prevent damage and maintain a safe work environment.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent (or currently pursuing).
• Basic math skills.
• Knowledge of tools, hardware components, and product assembly.
• Valid driver's license.
• Basic computer knowledge.
• Point of Sale (POS) system familiarity is a plus.
