PET-CT Technologist - Port Charlotte

Job Description

We are looking for a skilled PET-CT Technologist to join our team at Akumin. Our technologists play a crucial role in ensuring patient comfort, safety, and satisfaction throughout the imaging process. They are responsible for producing high-quality diagnostic images, maintaining patient safety, and communicating effectively with customers and radiologists. Additionally, they may be required to train new technologists, troubleshoot equipment, and handle various tasks related to the imaging process.

Responsibilities

• Ensure patient safety by pre-screening for contra-indications and following radiation safety regulations.
• Produce high quality diagnostic images using PET/CT technology.
• Communicate effectively with customers and radiologists.
• Train new technologists and troubleshoot equipment when necessary.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent experience.
• Certification in Nuclear Medicine or Positron Emission Tomography by the NMTCB or Nuclear Medicine ARRT.
• State license and CPR certification.
• Strong customer service, organizational, and multi-tasking skills.
• Basic knowledge of computer applications.
• Ability to work at multiple locations.

Preferred Qualifications

• Associate’s degree or equivalent experience.
• 1-2 years of experience in Nuclear Medicine procedures and studies.

Physical Requirements

The employee may be exposed to outside weather conditions and radioactive isotopes. Physical demands include sitting, standing, walking, and repetitive movement of hands, arms, and legs. Less frequently, the role may involve stooping, kneeling, climbing, lifting, and carrying.
