Preventative Maintenance Mechanic

Job Description

We are looking for a Preventative Maintenance Mechanic to join Portman's team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for independently performing various facility maintenance tasks, including mechanical, lighting, and hardware repairs. This role also involves administrative duties such as documenting activities and collaborating effectively with team members. The candidate must possess a fundamental understanding of state and local codes and hold a valid driver’s license. Responsibilities

• Maintain major HVAC, plumbing, life safety, and electrical equipment.
• Perform routine inspections and preventative maintenance on building systems.
• Troubleshoot and repair electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and other building systems.
• Assist with emergency preparedness, response, and building shutdowns.
• Provide training and support to other technicians.
• Foster positive working relationships with teammates and customers.

Requirements

• High School diploma or equivalent required; vocational school degree in HVAC or electrical maintenance preferred.
• EPA refrigerant transition recovery certification required.
• 6+ years of related experience in commercial building equipment maintenance.
• BOMA technician certification preferred.
• Good communication and organizational skills.
• Ability to work in a team environment and prioritize workload.
• Computer literacy with knowledge of Microsoft Office and online service request systems.
• Availability for occasional night, weekends, or holidays.
• Physical ability to lift, move objects, and perform various tasks.
