Job Description

We are looking for a talented Principal Data Science professional to join Discover Financial Services and be part of a collaborative culture that values diversity, teamwork, and innovation. In this role, you will work closely with management to execute analytical initiatives, provide strategic thinking to solve business problems through techniques such as segmentation, optimization, advanced analytics, and machine learning. Your responsibilities will include managing and escalating risk, developing and implementing advanced analytics, delivering presentations to leadership, and driving strategy enhancement through data-driven insights.

Job Responsibilities

• Provide thought leadership and strategic thinking to translate business problems into analytical frameworks.
• Collaborate with cross-functional partners to complete end-to-end analysis and facilitate implementation of work product.
• Lead the development and implementation of advanced analytics including customer segmentation, optimization, and machine learning algorithms.
• Deliver effective presentations of findings and recommendations to leadership, and develop and automate reports.
• Recommend improvements to work processes, continuously improving technical and leadership skills through training and development.

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Analytics, Engineering, Statistics, or related field.
• 6+ years of experience in Credit Risk, Fraud Risk, Marketing Analytics, or related field.

Preferred Qualifications

• Master's Degree in Analytics, Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics, or related field.
• 4+ years of experience in Credit Risk, Fraud Risk, Marketing Analytics, or related field.
