Senior Software Development Engineer - AWS Cryptography , C3P

Job Description

We are hiring a Senior Software Development Engineer to join our AWS Cryptography team at Amazon Development Center U.S., Inc. This is a full-time position with a focus on implementing cryptography at scale to secure web services for millions of customers. As a member of the Protocols, Algorithms, and Libraries (PAL) team, you will be instrumental in building and maintaining secure, open source encryption tools and libraries to protect sensitive data inside and outside of the cloud.

Responsibilities

• Lead the software development lifecycle for AWS Cryptography, defining, prioritizing, designing, testing, and implementing new features.
• Operate within a globally distributed server environment, delivering secure libraries using C and Rust.
• Collaborate with senior leaders, principal engineers, and security specialists to deliver and support cryptographic tools used worldwide.

Basic Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional software development experience.
• Proficiency in at least one software programming language.
• Experience in design or architecture of new and existing systems.
• Prior experience as a mentor, tech lead, or leading an engineering team.

Preferred Qualifications

• 5+ years of full software development lifecycle experience.
• Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent.
