Shop Foreman

Job Description

First Student, the largest school transportation provider in North America, is seeking a motivated Shop Foreman to join our team. As a Shop Foreman, you will play a pivotal role in the maintenance and repair of our school bus fleet, ensuring the safety and reliability of transportation for millions of students daily.

Responsibilities

• Schedule and perform school bus fleet maintenance, including diagnosis and troubleshooting of complex problems.
• Supervise technicians in the shop and generate work orders.
• Maintain advanced knowledge of vehicle components for effective maintenance and repairs.
• Monitor shop operational performance and efficiency and take action to improve as needed.

Requirements

• Valid driver’s license and willingness to obtain CDL while employed – training provided.
• At least 5 years of automotive or diesel maintenance & repair experience or technical school education.
• Previous experience in a lead technician, supervisor, or other management role is preferred.
• Possess a mechanic’s tool set and willingness to participate in ASE certification program.
• Subject to DOT drug testing and physical.
