Job Description
At Home Builders Institute Inc, we are seeking a skilled Trades Instructor for our BCT Building Construction Technology program. As an integral part of our organization, the successful candidate will demonstrate proper technique, safety, and attention to detail through hands-on training and classroom instruction. Responsibilities
- Instruct program participants in trade skills using approved curriculum.
- Develop curriculum and supporting training materials, as needed.
- Coordinate hands-on training activities, including on-site and community-based projects.
- Demonstrate proper use of tools and equipment with an emphasis on safety.
- Assist with student recruitment, placement, and employability training as directed and required by program needs.
- Monitor, mentor, and coach students.
- Foster positive working relationships with funders, program partners, and other personnel.
- Participate in outreach and employer relationship development.
- Perform various administrative and reporting functions as required.
- Ensure proper use, storage, and security of tools and equipment.
- Adhere to all applicable safety protocols, including OSHA 10.
Requirements
- Ability to meet Career Technical Training requirements, including a High School Diploma or equivalent and/or any combination of work, education, and/or skills equivalent to Journey-level experience in the relevant trade - Carpentry, Electrical, Plumbing or HVAC.
