Sr Merchandise Handler

Job Description

Join our team at Slumberland Furniture as a Senior Merchandise Handler. As a crucial member of our warehouse operations, you will play a key role in merchandise movement, training, customer service, and safety compliance.

Primary Objective & Scope of Position

This position focuses on storing, moving, and distributing merchandise efficiently. You will lead by example, provide training to colleagues, and ensure exceptional quality in all operations.

Essential Functions and Accountabilities

• Conduct merchandise movement activities to optimize space and product availability.
• Manage merchandise flow using the Point of Sale (POS) system.
• Maintain accuracy in customer orders and system records.
• Handle incoming and outgoing merchandise with care and precision.
• Provide training to team members and demonstrate best practices.
• Deliver excellent customer service and maintain inventory accuracy.
• Ensure safety compliance, follow guidelines, and contribute to risk reduction.
• Engage in grounds and building maintenance as needed.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED equivalent.
• Basic math skills and familiarity with tools and hardware assembly.
• Valid driver's license and basic computer knowledge required.
• Experience with POS systems is advantageous.
