Job Description
We are currently seeking a dedicated Senior Merchandise Handler to join Slumberland Furniture's team. As a key member of our warehouse operations, you will be responsible for the efficient movement, storage, and distribution of merchandise. Your role will encompass maintaining inventory accuracy, providing training to team members, and ensuring high standards of customer service.
Responsibilities
- Move and optimize merchandise placement within the warehouse to maximize space utilization.
- Handle merchandise transfers to and from the showroom or storage areas, ensuring proper presentation and packaging.
- Utilize the Point of Sale (POS) system to manage inventory flow accurately.
- Inspect incoming and outgoing merchandise for quality and completeness.
- Lead by example by providing training to fellow team members.
- Deliver exceptional customer service by communicating effectively and resolving inventory discrepancies promptly.
- Maintain a safe and organized warehouse environment by following safety protocols and company regulations.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED (or actively pursuing one).
- Basic math skills and knowledge of tools and hardware components.
- Valid driver's license and basic computer proficiency.
- Experience with POS systems is a plus.
