Sr Merchandise Handler

Job Description

We are seeking a detail-oriented Senior Merchandise Handler to join our team at Slumberland Furniture. As a key member of the warehouse operations, you will be responsible for efficiently moving, storing, and distributing merchandise, while maintaining high standards of organization and customer satisfaction.

Responsibilities

• Efficiently move and store merchandise in designated locations to maximize space utilization.
• Transport merchandise to and from the show floor for display, storage, delivery, or shipments.
• Utilize the point of sale (POS) system for managing inventory flow accurately.
• Ensure precise handling of customer orders and records to maintain inventory accuracy.
• Receive incoming merchandise by unloading, inspecting, and tagging; prepare outgoing merchandise for flawless delivery.
• Provide training to other team members and lead by example in all operations.
• Deliver exceptional customer service by communicating effectively with customers, colleagues, and vendors.
• Maintain inventory accuracy by resolving discrepancies and promptly reporting to management.
• Adhere to safety policies and procedures, ensuring equipment and merchandise are handled safely and facilities are well-maintained.
• Perform other duties as assigned by supervisors, including maintenance tasks and following Lean practices.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED, or currently working towards one.
• Basic math skills and knowledge of tools and hardware components.
• Valid driver's license and basic computer knowledge required.
• Experience with POS systems desirable.
