Job Description

First Student is seeking a Diesel Mechanic for our shop serving Batavia, IL. This position offers wages starting at $23/hour or higher depending on experience and qualifications. As a Diesel Mechanic with First Student, you will help maintain and repair school buses to ensure vehicle readiness and safety. You will also be responsible for assisting with preventive maintenance, safety inspections, annual DOT maintenance inspections, and mobile emergency services. Valid driver’s license required; willingness to obtain CDL while employed – training provided! At least 1 year of automotive or diesel maintenance & repair experience or technical school education required. Mechanic’s tool set required. Willingness to participate in ASE certification program.
