Used Service Technician

Job Description

We are currently looking for motivated and skilled Service Technicians to join our team at Rudd Equipment Company. As a Service Technician, you will play a critical role in diagnosing and repairing various systems on heavy equipment both in the shop and in the field. Your responsibilities will include troubleshooting, locating and fixing mechanical deficiencies, performing welding and fabrication tasks, and ensuring all repairs are done in accordance with safety standards.

Responsibilities

• Participate in safety programs and work safely
• Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical issues on heavy equipment
• Perform repairs in the field independently
• Conduct welding, fabrication, and parts modification as necessary
• Repair and replace multiple components of heavy machinery systems
• Work efficiently to prioritize customer satisfaction
• Willingness to work overtime and travel as needed
• Adhere to quality standards and safety procedures

Qualifications

• Strong understanding of hydraulic, electrical, and drive-train systems
• Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
• Experience in repairing hydraulic, electrical, and air conditioning systems
• Proficient in welding and fabrication
• Familiarity with equipment operation and technical schematics

Education and Experience

• High School diploma or GED required
• Technical school graduate preferred
• Experience with Volvo construction equipment and paving equipment is an advantage
• Valid driver's license and ability to obtain DOT Medical Certification

Communication Skills

• Effective written and verbal communication abilities
• Ability to document repairs accurately
• Strong customer service skills

Physical Demands

To excel in this position, you must be physically capable of performing repairs, lifting heavy objects, and working in various weather conditions. Overtime and travel may be required.

Working Hours

This full-time role may involve variable work hours with occasional overtime.
