Job Description
Slumberland Furniture is currently seeking motivated Warehouse Associates to join our team. As a Warehouse Associate, you will play a critical role in the movement of merchandise, ensuring efficiency and accuracy in all operations.
Primary Objective & Scope of Position
- Responsible for storing, moving, and distributing product effectively.
- Lead by example and provide training to other team members.
Essential Functions and Accountabilities
Merchandise Movement
- Optimize space efficiency through merchandise consolidation.
- Handle merchandise movement to and from different locations.
- Manage product flow using the point of sale system.
- Ensure accuracy in customer orders and system records.
- Receive and inspect incoming merchandise, prepare outgoing orders.
Training
- Lead by example and provide training support to team members.
Customer Service
- Communicate effectively with customers, colleagues, and vendors.
- Resolve inventory discrepancies to maintain accuracy.
Other
- Adopt lean practices and assist with additional duties as assigned.
- Contribute to grounds and building maintenance.
Safety
- Follow safety policies and procedures to ensure a safe work environment.
- Maintain equipment and merchandise to prevent damage.
- Adhere to company guidelines for a well-organized facility.
Requirements: High school diploma or GED, basic math skills, knowledge of tools and hardware, valid driver's license, basic computer knowledge. POS experience is a plus.
