Job Description

We are currently hiring Warehouse Team Members to join our dedicated team at Slumberland Furniture. As a Warehouse Team Member, you will be responsible for various merchandise movement activities, ensuring efficiency and accuracy in product handling. This full-time position offers competitive pay starting at $17 per hour, with a Monday-Friday schedule starting at 7:00 am.

Primary Objective & Scope of Position

This position focuses on storing, moving, and distributing merchandise within our facility. Additionally, you will lead by example, providing training to fellow team members to maintain operational excellence.

Essential Functions and Accountabilities

  • Efficiently move and organize merchandise within designated locations for optimal space utilization.
  • Handle merchandise transfers to and from various areas such as the show floor, storage, and customer pickup or shipment.
  • Utilize the point of sale (POS) system for inventory management to ensure accuracy in order fulfillment.
  • Verify incoming and outgoing merchandise for quality assurance and proper packaging.
  • Contribute to training initiatives by being a mentor to other team members.
  • Provide exceptional customer service by communicating effectively and resolving inventory discrepancies promptly.
  • Adhere to safety protocols, operate equipment with care, and maintain a safe and organized work environment.
  • Perform other duties as assigned, including assisting in grounds and building maintenance activities.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED; ongoing education is welcomed.
  • Basic math skills and knowledge of tools and hardware components.
  • Valid driver's license and basic computer proficiency.
  • Previous experience with a POS system is advantageous.
