Warehouse Worker

Slumberland Furniture is currently seeking full-time Warehouse Workers with Forklift Operations experience to join our team. The ideal candidates will be responsible for efficiently moving, storing, and distributing merchandise. Primary Objective & Scope of Position:

This position plays a vital role in merchandise movement, including storing, moving, and ensuring efficient distribution of products. The Warehouse Worker will also provide training to other employees and lead by example.

Responsibilities

  • Efficiently move and organize merchandise to maximize space usage.
  • Prepare merchandise for storage, delivery, or customer pickup.
  • Utilize point of sale (POS) systems for inventory management.
  • Ensure accuracy in processing customer orders and maintaining records.
  • Oversee incoming and outgoing merchandise, including unpacking, inspecting, and preparing for shipment.
  • Provide some training to other employees.
  • Deliver exceptional customer service by interacting professionally with customers, colleagues, and vendors.
  • Resolve inventory discrepancies promptly and keep management informed.
  • Follow safety protocols rigorously to maintain a secure work environment.
  • Handle equipment and merchandise carefully to prevent damage and maintain safety standards.
  • Assist in grounds and building maintenance tasks as needed.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required (or working towards completion).
  • Basic math skills and knowledge of tools and hardware components.
  • Valid driver's license and basic computer proficiency.
  • Experience with POS systems is advantageous.
