Job Description

We are looking for a dedicated Director, Life Claims and Investigations to lead our Life Company's Claims and Fraud team. Reporting to the Chief Claims and Fraud Officer, you will be responsible for ensuring a seamless claims processing experience for our members who have lost a loved one. This role involves managing Life, Annuity & Health claims, overseeing the Special Investigation Unit, and developing investigative strategies while maintaining key business relationships.

Responsibilities

  • Provide guidance to staff in interpreting procedures and training materials.
  • Direct the claim investigation team to ensure business performance and progress towards objectives.
  • Develop and implement strategic plans in conjunction with senior management for Claims Security.
  • Identify emerging fraud trends, develop investigation programs, and oversee process improvements.
  • Establish collaborative relationships with internal and external partners, vendors, and agencies.
  • Manage hiring, development, coaching, and performance evaluation for the team.
  • Ensure effective risk identification, measurement, monitoring, and control in line with policies.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree OR 4 years of related experience (12 years total without a degree).
  • 8 years of relevant business experience including 3 years in Claims and/or Insurance Fraud.
  • 3 years of direct team lead or management experience.

Preferred Qualifications

  • US military experience or military spouse/domestic partner.
  • 5+ years of Life Insurance and/or annuity claims experience.
  • 3+ years of Life Insurance and/or annuity claims management or operational experience.
  • Knowledge of claims processing procedures and impact on operations.
  • Past approval authority handling life and/or annuity claims over $500,000.
  • Demonstrated success in delivering operational results.
