Job Description

The Conservation Fund is seeking a Research Technician Intern (Summer Intern) to join the team at the Freshwater Institute in Shepherdstown, WV. This part-time temporary position will involve assisting with pilot-scale anaerobic digestion experiments from June 1, 2024, to August 15, 2024. The ideal candidate will have a background in Biology, Chemistry, Environmental Science, or related fields and possess skills in laboratory work, data collection, and analysis.

Responsibilities

  • Operate and collect data from a pilot-scale anaerobic digester.
  • Conduct water quality testing and assist with laboratory analyses.
  • Extract and record data using software tools like Microsoft Excel.

Requirements

  • Currently pursuing a diploma or Bachelor’s degree in relevant disciplines.
  • Prior experience in a laboratory setting.
  • Interest in waste treatment technologies.
  • Proficiency in Office 365 applications.

Preferred Skills

  • Basic understanding of anaerobic digestion technology.
  • Knowledge of pumps, mixers, and plumbing.

Compensation

The salary for this position ranges from $17.00 to $20.00 per hour, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
