Responsibilities

  • Perform CAT Scan procedures following protocols established by the Radiologist.
  • Operate the CT scanner during IR procedures in the CT department.
  • Maintain work area, report maintenance issues for equipment, and monitor supplies and deficiencies.
  • Adhere to all Infection Prevention policies and utilize appropriate PPE.
  • Maintain licensure and BLS certification and participate in departmental training.
  • Demonstrate courteous behavior, positive attitude, and polite communication with co-workers and customers.
  • Understand and appreciate the need to provide good customer service, both internally and externally.
  • Participate in clinical activities and assist with patient flow and care, helping to optimize patient throughput via Radiology Transport.
  • Remain compliant with timekeeping rules, departmental procedures, and fulfill compliance with life safety, fire, hazardous waste, Radiation Safety, and Infection Prevention requirements.
  • Attend staff meetings, review daily huddles to keep current on department communications, and participate in departmental on-call and holiday requirements.

Experience Required

General, Trauma, and ED experience. Experience with Pediatrics and Cardiac imaging is preferred but not necessary.

Education Requirements

Graduate of an AMA-approved Radiologic Technologist Program. Must be enrolled in a qualified Computed Tomography program.

License/Certification Requirements

Current BLS Certification (Basic Life Support).

Current ARRT License (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists).

Current NJ-RADTECH License (Radiologic Technologist).

Special Requirements

ARRT Board Certified in Computed Tomography is preferred. If not at the time of hire, within 12 months of employment.
