Data Center Operations Technician 1

Job Description

The Data Center Operations Technician I position at Flexential is a critical role responsible for providing physical and Level II technical support to customers and resources. The role requires a solid understanding of Facilities infrastructure, Windows operating systems, PC troubleshooting, and management applications. Data Center Operations Technicians must exemplify professionalism and technical expertise in interactions with customers and internal resources.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide timely resolution and escalation of Facility and customer issues.
• Maintain a professional attitude while performing data center duties.
• Troubleshoot and document technical issues using the ticketing system.
• Follow Support and Data Center policies and procedures.
• Provide local access and escort for vendors and carriers.
• Perform remote hands work for customers.
• Support 24/7 operations and work any shift in a 24x7x365 environment.
• Assist in physical and logical installations of Flexential services.
• Maintain Data Center cleanliness and perform Facilities Rounds.
• Handle shipping/receiving for Customers and Flexential Deliveries.
• Operate Badge Access Security System.
• Assist Critical Infrastructure Manager as needed.
• Maintain cabling and general usage item inventory levels.
• Perform additional duties as required.

Required Qualifications

• Passion for great customer experience.
• Understanding of Windows and Microsoft Operating systems.
• Self-starter and motivated individual.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to meeting deadlines.
• 1 year of IT Support experience preferred.
• Network+, Security+, CCNA desired.
• Microsoft MCP or MCSA preferred.
• AA, BS, or High School Diploma.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to climb ladders and work aloft.
• Able to work in cold environments and lift heavy objects.
• Capable of using pallet jacks and installing cabling.

Hourly Pay Range

The estimated hourly pay range for this position is $19.33 - $29.00 depending on experience and qualifications.
