Diesel Mechanic (Heavy Truck)

Job Description

We are looking for a skilled Diesel Mechanic (Heavy Truck) to join our team at River States Truck And Trailer. As a Diesel Mechanic, you will be responsible for accurately diagnosing, troubleshooting, and providing quality repairs on Class 6-8 vehicles. You will work independently, ensuring customer satisfaction by resolving concerns, maintaining safety standards, and staying up-to-date with new technology in the industry.

Responsibilities

• Accurately diagnose and troubleshoot malfunctions on heavy trucks.
• Deliver high-quality repairs using proper tools and critical thinking skills.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area.
• Resolve customer concerns by identifying issues and offering effective solutions.
• Participate in training to stay updated on new automotive technology.
• Adhere to company safety policies and procedures.

Requirements

• 5-7 years of experience as a diesel technician on Class 6-8 vehicles.
• Valid driver's license.
• Ability to pass background check and drug screening.
• Own necessary tools for the position.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Strong customer service and communication skills.
• Capacity to lift up to 50 pounds.

Preferred Qualifications

• Class A CDL.
• Technical degree.
• A/C, Brake, and DOT Annual Inspector Certifications.
• Specialization in specific areas such as engines or brakes.
