Job Description

First Student, the largest school transportation provider in North America, is seeking a Gas or Diesel Mechanic for our shop serving the Nashua, Litchfield & Hudson School Districts. This role involves maintaining and repairing gas-powered school buses, performing preventative maintenance, safety inspections, and annual DOT maintenance inspections, as well as diagnosing and repairing various vehicle and equipment components. The mechanic will also lead lower-level technicians and assist with mobile emergency services.

Requirements

• Valid driver’s license required; willingness to obtain CDL within 90 days while employed – Training provided
• At least 5 years of automotive or diesel maintenance & repair experience, or technical school education
• Possess a mechanic’s tool set
• Willingness to participate in the ASE certification program. Training, testing, and bonuses provided
• Subject to a drug test
