Job Description

Helps patients by supporting personal hygiene and daily living needs; providing comfort, transportation, and vital sign monitoring. This position demands good physical and mental health, including the ability to lift, carry, walk, sit, push, pull, and work a flexible schedule, with continuous movement during work hours and the ability to lift and/or carry 50 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Provides patients' personal hygiene by assisting with travel to the bathroom, giving bedpans, urinals, baths, backrubs, shampoos, and shaves; helping with showers and baths.
• Assists with serving meals, feeding patients as necessary, washing and drying resident laundry, ambulating, turning, and positioning patients; providing fresh water and nourishment between meals.
• Utilizes resources and materials to provide patient comfort; transports patients; answers patients' call lights and requests; reports patient observations to the supervisor.
• Documents actions by completing forms, reports, and records; maintains work operations by following policies and procedures; keeps patient information confidential; adheres to professional standards and community policies, federal, state, and local requirements, and OHSA standards.
• Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities, reading professional publications, participating in professional organizations; maintaining licensure; and exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments.
