Radiology Technologist - per diem
Job Description
Kindred Hospital Riverside is committed to providing exceptional care to chronic, critically ill, and medically complex patients. As a Radiology Technologist in our specialty hospital, you will play a vital role in the recovery process by administering general and specific X-rays, preparing barium mixtures, and ensuring proper X-ray procedures.
Responsibilities
- Receives, relays, and documents verbal, facsimile, electronic, and/or telephone orders in the patient's chart as permitted by State and Institutional policies.
- Follows prescribed techniques in administering general and specific X-rays, adjusts equipment, determines proper voltage, current, and desired exposure time, and arranges immobilization and support devices to obtain the position of the patient.
- Determines techniques for ionizing radiation during radiologic exams.
- Prepares barium preparation and other chemical mixtures for X-rays.
- Observes patient and machine during the procedure, reports unusual occurrences, and records the patient's condition.
- Develops film in accordance with photographic techniques.
- Cleans and disinfects the X-ray room and equipment.
- Prepares the patient for X-ray, explains procedures, transfers the patient to the table, positions the patient, and assists the patient at the end of procedures.
Qualifications
- Completion of ARRT accredited program.
- The American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) registration. Current CPR certification. State certifications/licensure as required by the state in which employed.
- One year experience in diagnostic imaging.
