Job Description

Amazon Web Services provides a highly reliable, scalable, low-cost infrastructure platform in the cloud that powers hundreds of thousands of businesses in 190 countries around the world. They are seeking a dynamic, organized self-starter to join AWS to manage new region builds across the globe. The primary responsibility will be supporting AWS global expansion as a technical program manager supporting new AWS region builds. This role will sit in Amazon's new headquarters in Northern Virginia, where they will invest $2.5 billion dollars, occupy 4 million square feet of energy efficient office space, and create at least 25,000 new full-time jobs.

Successful candidates will have a strong technical background, be detail oriented, and have excellent problem-solving abilities. They will have a deep understanding of distributed system design and delivery. Their program management expertise and operational excellence will influence the team’s decisions and drive secure and scalable solutions. They should be passionate about delivering great customer experiences and researching and developing new region build methodologies.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

• 5+ years of technical product or program management experience
• 7+ years of working directly with engineering teams experience
• 3+ years of software development experience
• 5+ years of technical program management working directly with software engineering teams experience
• Experience managing programs across cross-functional teams, building processes, and coordinating release schedules

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• 5+ years of project management disciplines including scope, schedule, budget, quality, along with risk and critical path management experience
• Experience managing projects across cross-functional teams, building sustainable processes, and coordinating release schedules
• Experience defining KPI's/SLA's used to drive multi-million dollar businesses and reporting to senior leadership
