Job Description

This is an exciting opportunity to use the latest cloud computing technologies to help U.S. Government agencies implement innovative cloud computing solutions and solve technical problems. As a Systems Development Engineer, you will be part of a specialized group of service teams responsible for building some of the largest and most complex distributed systems in the world, including fully managed services such as Lambda, Simple Workflow, and Step Functions.

We are looking for smart, enthusiastic, and creative engineers with a solid background in solving hard problems spanning the software development, systems engineering, and systems security disciplines. The successful candidate will not only work with brilliant engineers but also further develop their skills and career within one of the most innovative and progressive technology companies.

Responsibilities

  • Identify ways to improve the lives of customers through improvements to tools, processes, and documentation.
  • Work with a team of highly motivated and talented systems developers and systems engineers to improve the use of tools in both isolated AWS regions and in the AWS GovCloud regions.

Requirements

  • 2+ years of non-internship professional software development experience.
  • 1+ years of designing or architecting new and existing systems.
  • 7+ years of administrative experience in networking, storage systems, and operating systems with hands-on systems engineering experience.
  • Knowledge of systems engineering fundamentals, including networking, storage, and operating systems.
  • Experience programming with at least one modern language such as C++, C#, Java, Python, Golang, PowerShell, or Ruby.
  • Current, active US Government Security Clearance of Top Secret or above.
