Job Description

We are looking for a dedicated Residential Youth Counselor (Direct Care Support Youth Professional) to join the Mount Prospect Academy team. As a Youth Counselor, you will play a crucial role in supporting at-risk youth, providing mentorship, guidance, and a safe environment for their personal growth and development. This position offers the opportunity to make a meaningful impact on the lives of young individuals and contribute to the community's well-being.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and mentor students, assisting with appropriate behavior and crisis management.
• Implement social and recreational activities to engage residents in positive programming.
• Deliver care and education according to individual treatment plans.
• Teach daily living skills, promote social interaction, and ensure residents' successful reintegration into the community.
• Foster positive relationships, model respectful communication, and provide emotional support during challenging times.
• Facilitate structured routines, attend meetings, and plan meaningful activities for residents.

Qualifications

• Associate or bachelor's degree, relevant credits, or equivalent experience working with children.
• Valid driver's license, 21 years or older, and authorized to work in the U.S.
• Successful completion of background checks.
