Construction Inspector - Wichita

Job Description

Professional Engineering Consultants (PEC) is currently seeking an Experienced Construction Inspector to join our dynamic team in Wichita, KS. As a Construction Inspector, you will be responsible for overseeing and reporting on various civil construction projects, ensuring compliance with regulations and specifications.

Position Duties and Responsibilities:

• Inspect a wide range of construction projects including civil, municipal, architectural, and environmental disciplines.
• Review and interpret construction drawings and plans to ensure accuracy and compliance.
• Attend meetings, resolve issues, and provide recommendations for project improvements.
• Prepare detailed reports, track contractor progress, and conduct final inspections.
• Establish and maintain positive relationships with clients, employees, and other stakeholders.
• Perform materials testing and provide field support as needed.

Qualifications and Skills:

• Minimum of five years of construction inspection experience.
• Knowledge of municipal water/wastewater treatment plant inspections.
• Preferred certifications: KDOT CITT and American Concrete Institute (ACI).
• Strong understanding of civil construction methods, safety regulations, and inspection procedures.
• Proficient in reading and interpreting construction documents.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills.
• Ability to work extended hours and travel as required.
• High school diploma or equivalent; valid driver's license.

Tools, Equipment, and Software Used:

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Bluebeam Revu PDF software, and other relevant tools.
• Experience with measuring equipment and data analysis tools.
• Ability to operate smartphones, computers, and motor vehicles.
