Bulger Veterinary Hospital is looking to hire a Full-time Veterinary Technician to its growing surgical team in Lawrence, Massachusetts. As a Surgery Veterinary Technician at Bulger Veterinary Hospital, you will work alongside anesthesiologists and board-certified surgeons, specializing in soft tissue, orthopedic, and minimally invasive surgical procedures. This position offers the opportunity to be part of a well-established practice focusing on the special bond between humans and animals.
Responsibilities
- Perform anesthetic monitoring, including intubation/extubation and troubleshooting machines.
- Obtain and prepare blood samples for diagnostic testing.
- Take and process radiographs throughout the pre and post-operative process.
- Assist doctors during surgical procedures, including abdominal explores, cruciate repairs, and more.
- Knowledge of normal patient vitals for awake, sedated, and anesthetized patients.
- Potential to achieve VTS for anesthesia or surgical specialty.
Schedule: Full-time position, 36-40 hours per week, with up to 3 holidays (no weekends required).
Requirements
- Graduate of an AVMA program or equivalent experience.
- Minimum of two years of experience in Veterinary Anesthesia.
- Proficiency in anesthetic agents, record-keeping, and anesthetic monitoring.
- CVT, LVT, or VTS preferred.
