Lead Grocery Store Designer

Job Description

We are looking for a Lead Grocery Store Designer to join Associated Wholesale Grocers, the largest cooperative food wholesaler in the nation. In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing the design and construction coordination for grocery store development projects in the Kansas City Division. Your duties will include advising members on store development and equipment needs, collaborating with architects and engineers, and managing equipment sales and installation.

Responsibilities

• Meet with member retailers to design fixture layouts and recommend building components.
• Supervise building construction and review construction documents for accuracy.
• Coordinate equipment installation and requirements, negotiate with vendors, and manage project budgets.
• Provide direction and training to Store Engineers, prepare sales projections, and resolve departmental issues.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of retail grocery industry and experience in using CAD software.
• Ability to manage construction projects and make presentations.
• Strong attention to detail, time management skills, and technical aptitude.
• Experience in grocery store design, construction, and managing employees.

Physical Requirements

• Perform various physical tasks, lift up to 25 pounds, and travel up to 50%.
