Lead Machinist

Job Description

We are looking for a Lead Machinist to join Middle River Aerostructure Systems, a world-leading manufacturer of aerostructures based near Baltimore, MD. As a Lead Machinist, you will work in a prototype, development, and production support machine shop, focusing on programming, operating, and troubleshooting multi-axis NC and manual milling and turning equipment to create precision components.

Role Summary

- Develop NC programs based on Engineering definitions.
- Operate various equipment in the Lab Machine Shop.
- Machine a variety of materials including plastics, composites, and metals.
- Work on low volume, one-off projects.

Requirements

General:
- HS Diploma/GED Equivalent with technical training or equivalent experience.
- Ability to work independently and with team leaders.
- Strong communication skills and proficiency in productivity tools.
Machine Shop Specific:
- Experience in developing NC programs and operating machine shop equipment.
- Proficiency in machining different materials.
- Prior experience in precision machining projects.
